Wow. My heart goes out to you. I have a simular past........BUT, married in the Truth, then became in-active......we have one child. To me.all religion is at fault, and is guilty of brainwashing in some way/shape/or form, so don't beat yerself up over which one you should raise your kids in. JUST MAKE SURE THEY BE HE BEST PEOPLE THEY CAN BE! Treat others right, and ya can't go wrong, period. Welcome, and this site has comforted me as well.

Free at Last, or am I
by Princess Daisy Boo ini have just spent the last 3 or 4 hours reading everyone's posts and i am so thrilled and relieved that sites like this exist which allow us ex jw's to express ourselves.
i feel compelled to share my story, even though it is probably quite unremarkable.
i have this feeling that finally being able to express my thoughts albeit on the web, will finally allow me some freedom!.

Who is SATAN to you?..............
by passive suicide indoes he/it really exist to you?
since i've become more empowered in my fade.....i've been realizing satan is just a huge guilt tool used by religion in general.
at this point i believe 'he' doesn't exist...........

esw1966..I'm not going to sit here, and de-mean your faith in god, or prayer.........but you haven't taken into consideration, GUT INSTINCT, Co-incidence, or the ability you may have to A) Influence those around you. B)Project your needs upon others. Could it be that your fiance was sensing your need for spirituality?.....and as such...decided to build you up by contributing @ the next church meeting? Could it be that YOU are a GREAT employee.....and your bosses saw a need to build you up.....so you wouldn't take off?!! We attribute so much to prayer....when in actuality WE have the ability to take care of ourselves.

Hey all. I got sidetracked in a comment I left earlier today....and it occurred to me to ask this question. I used to believe in prayer. BUT.....Life has shown me so far that prayer is just another tool used by organized religion on a whole to convince individuals that they CANNOT do it on their own. Weather it be a choice they need to make, a need to be filled, good wishes on another, or strength to make it through a serious situation. I feel mankind (womenkind to okay), has that strength already built in.....and people use prayer as a tool to release it. And then they attribute that strength to God....Why? I say prayer is demeaning to both ourselves.....and those who rely on us for strength. ohh, and by the way.....Cheers, and have a good rest of the weekend.:P

What goes through their mind when.....
by JH ini was taking a walk earlier and a jw couple was leaving to go to their sunday meeting.. they saw me walking and know that i'm inactive since over a decade, and know that i don't go to meetings since many years, but still waved at me and gave me a big smile.. ok, once they get by me, and their smile fades away, what must they be saying about me?.

Boy.............alot of hate in this place.........Ever stop to think, what kind of individuals that couple may be? They KNOWINGLY smiled and waved back at you.....knowing your spiritual "condition"....There are many Witnesses who would have stared right through you, and treated you like you had a disease. This couple did the opposite. I have a feeling they were, and are, sincere in their concern for you, and I can truly appreciate where their hearts/minds were at. YOU on the other hand.....could maybe have THE SAME concern for them, and their quandry. Being so deeply intertwined with the organization which rules their life. Sheesh. We all need people like that...people who REALLY love others. Regardless of where they're at in life. Anyone who can't appreciate that is lost, and sad...relig. or no.

Monophonic.........Is it prayer, or common sense of a man who's released himself from a though controlling "relig"? Not to go on a side tangent.....but I put NOTHING on prayer. It's an invention to make man believe he needs devine guidance....when in actuality, the HUMAN spirit is the strength being drawn from.
